Wysowa-Zdrój and the Low Beskids
is an excellent place for hiking enthusiasts, peaceful walks, and mountain expeditions with beautiful views. The region delights with its wild nature, low tourist traffic, and the unique atmosphere of a spa located right by the border with Slovakia. The local trails lead through vast forests, scenic meadows, stream valleys, and mountain ridges, offering contact with nature and the silence that is increasingly hard to find in popular resorts.
One of the most famous peaks in the area is Lackowa – the highest peak of the Low Beskids, which is part of the Crown of Polish Mountains. The trails leading to Lackowa are challenging, especially from the side of Izby, but the reward is exceptional views and the satisfaction of conquering one of the most distinctive peaks in the region. Popular hikes also include trips to Kozi Żebro and Mount Jawor, where there is a historic Orthodox church and a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding hills of the Low Beskids.
Many hiking trails run near the Slovak border or directly along the border ridges. This allows hikers to admire the vast panoramas on both the Polish and Slovak sides of the Carpathians. The trails vary in difficulty – from short walks ideal for families with children to all-day mountain expeditions for more experienced tourists.
The Low Beskids are known for their wild nature and natural landscape. While walking, one can encounter deer, roe deer, wild boars, and with a bit of luck, many species of birds of prey. The expansive forests, low number of buildings, and tranquil atmosphere make the surroundings of Wysowa-Zdrój an ideal place for active relaxation close to nature. There are also numerous walking paths in the area leading through the Spa Park, the Łopaciński Valley, or less frequented forest roads and scenic clearings. This means that both those seeking peaceful relaxation and mountain trekking enthusiasts will find trails suited to their abilities and expectations.
The hiking trails around Wysowa-Zdrój are the perfect combination of active leisure, beautiful landscapes, and contact with nature. It is a place that many tourists return to throughout the year – in summer, autumn, and winter.
